Hello! I’m Cam Murray.
I’m a Licensed Associate Counselor and therapist at Guide to Grow Therapy, LLC located in Hamilton, New Jersey.
My approach to therapy is non-judgmental, person-centered, and built on a strong foundation of authenticity. I strive to create a safe space for my clients, ensuring that we build rapport together through a collaborative approach in an effort to make you feel comfortable and ready to work on your specific needs and goals.
I am extremely passionate about counseling and listening to others with an open heart and open mind while offering my ongoing and unwavering support to my clients. I live by the quote, “If nothing else, be kind”, and I believe that I embody this notion in my work with clients as a counselor, and as a person who truly believes in the power of this important work.
My background experiences include working with individuals facing depression, anxiety, OCD, communication barriers, familial challenges, identity crises, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma-related disorders. I have a background of working closely with clients in group settings, individual counseling, family support sessions, etc. I am a trauma-informed clinician, having obtained my certification for Clinical Trauma Professional.
My areas of interest include working with the LGBTQIA+ community, working with individuals who have a background of trauma, and working with individuals navigating the very real challenges presented by depression, anxiety, stress, and feelings of hopelessness. As a clinician who lives with chronic illness, I value working with clients navigating their own illness and/or disability that may be impacting their day to day life. I am very mindful of maintaining a person-centered and caring approach with my clients, as being genuine and respectful in our relationship are of the utmost importance to me.
As a person-centered therapist who works from a Rogerian therapeutic approach, each session will be tailored to the needs and preferences of my clients. Working from a collaborative and positive approach, I like to draw on my knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-based interventions as well as Somatic work therapy (focusing in on the brain-body connection to process emotions and release trauma).
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rider University in 2025 after receiving my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies & Spanish from Randolph-Macon College in 2021. I am currently working towards my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license working under the direct supervision of my Clinical Supervisor.
I really look forward to working on building a trusting and honest relationship together, where you can leave our sessions equipped with more tools and strategies to help you better deal with the adversities and stressors of life. Together, we will work on harnessing a stronger sense of self and fostering more confidence in your relationship with yourself and in your relationships with others. I believe it is immensely brave of you to consider partnering with me on your journey, and for that, I am very thankful for the opportunity. A main goal of mine is to make you feel heard and seen, especially when those things seem impossible to find in the world. I look forward to joining you on this process of understanding yourself on a deeper level.
